Hello, I'm Oliver
Project manager. Parent. An expat residing in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn’t in the grand plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job chance and soon grew into something far grander.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Transition Phase
Culture shock, doubt, and hands-on learning were present. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, met other families, and began constructing something that felt steady.
Why I Created ColvatorinMavri
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourist content. What was missing was candid, everyday family insight.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on lessons from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- refreshed whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Canada continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Cheers,
Oliver
